Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 26, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Video Browser by RedShift Softwares collects, uses, stores, shares, and protects information when you use our Android web browser and download manager application.

By using Video Browser, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

1. Information We Collect Or Process

Video Browser is a web browser, download manager, video detector, password manager, and optional cloud-sync app. Depending on the features you use, the app may process the following information.

Browser Data Stored On Your Device

The app may store browser-related data locally on your device, including:

Browsing history

Search history

Bookmarks and favorites

Frequently visited sites and shortcuts

Open tabs and tab previews

Browser settings and preferences

Website cookies, cache, local storage, and WebView site data

Download records and downloaded file metadata

Saved passwords, only if you choose to save them

Incognito tabs are designed not to save browsing history, search history, cookies, or saved passwords locally after the incognito session ends. However, websites, internet providers, employers, schools, visited services, and downloaded files may still identify or record activity outside the app.

Google Account And Sync Data

If you sign in with Google, we may process your Google account identifier, email address, display name, and profile photo where provided by Google. This is used to show your signed-in account and enable optional sync.

If sync is enabled, the app may sync the following to Firebase services:

Bookmarks and favorites

Browsing history

Search history

Browser settings and preferences

Open normal tabs

Home shortcuts

Encrypted password-vault data

Saved passwords are stored locally using Android security features. When synced, password-vault data is encrypted before upload. For stronger password sync protection, use a dedicated sync passphrase when available. We do not intentionally store plaintext passwords in Firestore.

Video Detection And Download Data

When you use video detection or open the download quality sheet, the app may send the current page URL, video page URL, or selected media URL to our video metadata API so the app can fetch available formats, qualities, thumbnails, file sizes, protocols, and download links.

The app may also connect directly to the websites or media servers hosting files, HLS streams, DASH streams, images, audio, APKs, documents, or other files that you choose to download.

Downloaded files are saved on your device. The app may keep local records such as file name, source URL, media type, progress, status, size, and save path so downloads can pause, resume, retry, and appear in the finished downloads list.

Password Manager And Autofill-Like Features

If you choose to save passwords, the app may detect login form submissions inside WebView pages and ask whether you want to save or update credentials. Passwords are not saved unless you confirm. Password saving is not intended for incognito mode.

Saved password entries may include:

Website host and URL

Page title

Username

Password

Created and updated timestamps

Ads And Monetization

Video Browser uses Google AdMob to show banner and interstitial ads. Google and its partners may collect or receive information such as device identifiers, Advertising ID where available, IP address, app activity related to ads, approximate location derived from network signals, diagnostics, and ad interaction data. Ads may be personalized or non-personalized depending on your region, consent choices, device settings, and Google’s ad systems.

You can manage ad personalization through your Android or Google settings where available.

Search, Favicons, And Website Icons

When search suggestions are enabled, typed search terms may be sent to the selected search engine or suggestion provider. When displaying website icons, the app may request favicons from third-party services such as Google’s favicon service using the relevant website domain or URL.

Feedback And Review Prompts

The app may occasionally ask about your experience using a Good/Bad feedback bottom sheet. Your response may be stored locally to avoid asking too often. If you choose to send feedback, your email app may open with diagnostic context such as device model, Android version, and app package name. Feedback is sent only if you choose to send it.

5. Data Retention And Deletion

Local browser data remains on your device until you delete it, clear browser data, uninstall the app, or reset app storage.

Synced cloud data remains in Firebase until you delete synced cloud data, delete your app account, or we delete it according to operational or legal requirements.

You can delete data from inside the app by using Settings options such as clearing history, search history, bookmarks, cookies/cache/site data, passwords, downloads records, or all browser data.

If you created or used an app account through Google sign-in, you can request or initiate account deletion from inside the app settings. You may also use our account deletion page:

6. Security

We use reasonable technical safeguards to protect data, including HTTPS for network communication where supported, Android Keystore for local password-vault encryption, AES-GCM encryption for saved credentials, encrypted password-vault sync payloads, Firebase security rules, and limited access to synced data.

No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. You are responsible for keeping your device, Google account, lock screen, and sync passphrase secure.

You can:

Use the app without Google sign-in

Use incognito tabs for sessions you do not want saved locally

Disable or clear browser history, search history, cookies, cache, bookmarks, shortcuts, and saved tabs
